BBC The Virtual Revolution

I've just watched the 3rd program of this BBC series called "The Cost of Free". The cost of free to you and I is what we ultimately pay by donating our personal information in exchange for "free" services.

There is a large segment towards the middle of the program talking about Google and how it funds (via targeted advertising) its free services.

Its a very good watch for any one who runs an Adword campaign - I certainly picked up lots of tips and tricks and insight into how to work with Google natural listings and paid for advertising. It also made me start to look to the right hand side of web pages serving up targeted ads - if the ad is relevant to you, then you've given away to much personal data!

All in all an easy watch, which is somewhat uncomfortable, where you can learn alot.
